HD Aerial Photography & Video
All of our helicopters have functioning gimball mounts that are stabilized using the latest technology to eliminate as much vibration as possible. This is especially important when using smaller version cameras that don’t have the stabilizing lenses.
All of our ships will fly with GoPro Hero II cameras. These are known for their quality, color enhancements, and just an all around great video camera for the size. These cameras are small enough that our helicopters can maneuver quickly and have good flexibility in the air.

Figment Group launches it’s new site and embraces the WordPress platform as it’s CMS. For many years we used several types of High end, Mid range and even fully custom CMS (Content Management Systems) for our client and ourselves. Recently with the explosive growth and demand of WordPress sites and all of it’s SEO (Search Engine Optimization) advantages built into it’s platform, Figment Group decided to embrace this platform with open arms and fully use it to its potencial. The ease of use and growth of these types of sites have have made a tremendous change in several of our clients day to day use and growth of their sites. We’re able to provide our clients with an easy to use affordable solution, enhancements, customizations, flexibility and customized look/feel we’ve always offered while staying within their budgets.
What is WordPress?
WordPress started in 2003 with a single bit of code to enhance the typography of everyday writing and with fewer users than you can count on your fingers and toes. Since then it has grown to be the largest self-hosted blogging tool in the world, used on millions of sites and seen by tens of millions of people every day.
Everything you see here, from the documentation to the code itself, was created by and for the community. WordPress is an Open Source project, which means there are hundreds of people all over the world working on it. (More than most commercial platforms.) WordPress started as just a blogging system, but has evolved to be used as full content management system and so much more through the thousands of plugins, widgets, and themes, this type of CMS is limited only by your imagination or how we like say a Figment of your imagination.

Gigantor Goliath Mr. Big
Mr. Big:
These are the largest of the fleet, 800 series helicopters with rotor blades extending mare than a 6 foot radius. Top of the line helicopters with all the right gear to get steady shots both for video and for photography. These birds can achieve speeds greater than 120MPH and have a stability that is amazing.
Each one is fitted with a stabilized gyro gimbal camera mount with pan, tilt, and roll for any position. Piloted by one person and the camera is operated at the base station through visual remote control FPV (First Person View). While these helicopters look like a lot of fun to play with, they are still large machines with rotating blades, therefore these are not used for any type of close up images. We tend to keep these at a distance of 100 feet or more, and use the camera lenses to zoom in and get the close-up that is required.
Todays cameras are more and more advanced than ever before. The standard camera on this setup is the Canon 5D, which shoots amazing video quality…(recently many movies and tv series have begun to use these due to their size and versatility). Photography is shot between 18-32 megapixels, shot in raw format for exceptional ability to retouch and color correct in post production.
Using such large helicopters, these are the perfect combination to complete the fleet, they are steady and the wind has less effect on them. Primary wind conditions are up to 20knots. If we are shooting motion and hovering where steady still shots are not necessary these can be used up to 30knots.
The camera lenses with the stabilization, coupled with the gimbal stabilization allows for a smoother transition in the post editing room.

600 Series Pro Red and Pro Orange
Pro Red and Pro Orange:
These helicopters are larger 600 series. They have all been upgraded with state of the art electrical systems, gyros, and stabilized camera mounts. Although these machines are able to achieve speeds up to 90MPH, they are used for skirting beaches, long distance runs and vast overviews of properties or landscapes.
Equipped with individual camera controls, these helicopters have a pilot that is constantly positioning or flying the helicopter over the location, while a separate camera operator is controlling the camera from a base station. This unit has the ability to fly up to 3-miles, although this is very rarely the occasion.
As a midsize helicopter we use this to provide smooth flyovers, long distance aerials for beaches, golf courses, boats and hotels. Imagine being able to fly within 50 feet of a couple on your beach or golfers teeing off. This helicopter can be used to follow moving subjects and keep them in focus. Primary wind conditions for this unit are up to 15knot winds. If we are shooting in motion and not trying to achieve hover, these can be used up to 20knots.
